Police have identified a suspect believed to be the mastermind in the kidnap of Dutch boy Nayati Shamelin Moodliar, with the help of Interpol.

Deputy inspector-general of police Khalid Abu Bakar today said police were hunting the suspect, who had escaped to Europe, with the help of Interpol while the remaining suspects under detention would be charged in court.

“We consider the case as completed,” he said after launching a blood donation campaign by the Kuala Lumpur Police Contingent Headquarters in Kuala Lumpur.

Meanwhile, Kuala Lumpur CID chief Ku Chin Wah confirmed a man, aged 24, the seventh suspect in the case, was detained last Thursday at 1.15pm, in Banting, Selangor.

Nayati, 12, was kidnapped on April 27 while walking to the Mont Kiara International School, near his house, here. He was found safe at the North-South Expressway rest area at Sungai Buloh at 7.55am, on May 3.
