Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak has ordered the Home Ministry to set up an independent committee to probe all brutality cases during the Bersih 3.0 rally last Saturday.

Quoting cabinet sources, Chinese newspapers reported today that the cabinet was very concerned about the chaos at the Bersih 3.0 rally.

Therefore, Najib has ordered the Home Ministry to investigate assault cases as alleged by all sides, police officers as well as participants and media practitioners.

However, the cabinet today did not decide on the members of the investigation committee, leaving it up to the home minister to make the annnouncement.

Besides that, the cabinet also opined that PKR and the party’s de facto leader, Anwar Ibrahim, had hijacked the Bersih 3.0 rally.
