Dr Mahathir Mohamad was discharged from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Medical Centre in Kuala Lumpur today.

The former prime minister had minor surgery to remove nasal polyps on Tuesday.

He was discharged at 10.30am, according to a statement issued by his aides.

“He is well and doctors were satisfied with his condition,” it said.

It further said that Mahathir would, however, continue to be on medical leave until the weekend and was advised to rest at his residence.

The hour-long surgery was performed by a medical team led by Prof Dr Abdullah Sani Mohamed.
