Ambiga upset with Pakatan MPs over PSC

vox populi small thumbnailFerdtan: The trouble with the three Pakatan Rakyat MPs in the PSC (parliamentary select committee) on electoral reform is that they didn't seek advice and views from their party or outside technical experts. That could be the reason why they had failed to notice such an important omission.

Lembah Pantai MP Nurul Izzah once mentioned she got technical advice from some members of the Bar Council in drafting questions in points of law to be submitted to Parliament in the last sitting. That is what we call being professional and meticulous.

Disgusted: What has Pakatan got to say to that? They seem to be lukewarm to the whole matter, whilst the rakyat are putting themselves on the line for them. At Bersih 2.0, the rakyat were very much on the receiving end, and so was Hindraf before the 12th GE.

Loyal Malaysian: Yes, the Pakatan MPs must be taken to task for not insisting on the need for the EC to implement electoral reforms before GE13.

Of course, we know their minority report was not accepted. Yet that does not absolve them of blame in this dereliction of their duty as pointed out by Ambiga.

And, so Bersih 3.0 is a must. The Umnoputeras and the Elections Commission (EC) must be put on notice that the rakyat will not stand idly by while they use devious means to steal GE13 right from under our noses.

Anonymous_3ec6: Pakatan is getting a free ride on Bersih 3.0. Ask them to mobilise 200,000 people if they can. They should not get a free ride at the expenses of the civil society.

WalkingTall: In the Bersih 2.0 rally, only PAS mobilised more people - the others in Pakatan only sent their leaders to show their face, and 30 PSM members were victimised.

This Bersih 3.0, Ambiga should not allow the Pakatan leaders to steal the show - civil society should front the rally.

Open Minded: I think Ambiga has to understand that the proposed reforms are just icing on the cake.

However, it must be noted that it could not have happened without your (Ambiga's) efforts to bring about the much needed changes to a commission that has existed on paper only, and which has taken us all for a ride for a long time.

Your continued efforts and aspirations towards more accountability and transparency is truly commendable and appreciated by all who stand for true and honest governance, and one that ensures all citizens make the pack, and not just a few capitalising on the many.

Fencesitter: Ambiga should whack the whole PSC and not give face to those Pakatan MPs. We should also not agree to have GE13 until all the Bersih 2.0 demands are met.

NGO: BN flag blitz at KTM stations 'childish, laughable'

Jedi_Who: Why is KTM's chief and Selangor BN coordinator Mohd Zin Mohamed one and the same person? Even public services are tainted by political members of the ruling government.

How can the administration of KTM be said to be serving the public when it is subservient to its masters in BN. Public companies should be rid of this menace once and for all. This is only possible if we vote this regime out.

Precisely the point - BN-Umno thinks they alone own Malaysia and therefore all its money as well, and that the rakyat (apart from Umno stalwarts) are their slaves and Umno alone has the right to tell people what to do.

And it is sad that most Malaysians, but in particular our civil service, are not more aware that their loyalty is to the king and the country and not the government of the day.

The civil servants should understand that no matter which government rules, you will still get your salaries and pensions, which is actually paid from taxpayers' money.

It's time to wake Malaysia up and stop this arrogance of the Umno top tier. Vote them out at GE13.

Do not worry that Pakatan has no experience or no plan. When the situation comes to a head, they will know how to pull themselves together and rule, otherwise they will get kicked out at GE14. What matters is to vote Umno out first.

Anonymous #70867328: Teras president Mohd Azmi Abdul Hamid is right, BN displays such low mentality. They think hanging BN flags all over the train stations will make people vote for them.

Free and Fair Election: I use Malaysian ringgit issued by the Malaysian government, but it doesn't mean that I am a ‘yes man' to whatever PM Najib Razak and his stooges do.

You can paint the whole town with BN flags for all I care. In fact, I see so many vans around town with BN flags all over them. All it does is to remind me not to vote for them.

It has created many opportunities for me to tell my children and friends how they waste our public funds, how they raise prices of controlled items which never was a problem before, and the abuse and injustice in our country.

Anonymous_40f4: Cronies of Umno are in many of the GLCs (government-linked companies) like Felda, Risda, KTM, etc. They can make good money there and will do anything to see that BN stays in power so that they can enjoy their RM100,000 monthly salaries.

Pitbull: I have been sick of Umno-BN's antics for a long time. Their banners, their uniforms, their outriders, their bodyguards, their hand-kissing. Who do they think they are?

I was in a Chinese restaurant some time ago and they had a picture of the PM on the wall - I told the owner to remove it or I'll walk out. He removed it.

Chedet: Let the BN flag also symbolise the delays, cancellations, overcrowded KTM service not to mention the corruption in the purchase of the coaches.

The BN flag is indeed a red flag reminder of the way the country is being run.
