Felda to report document leak to police

Federal Land Development Authority (Felda) will be lodging a police report today on the leak of documents pertaining to the Felda Global Ventures Holdings (FGVH) listing.
It wants a probe into how the documents ended up in opposition leaders' hands.

According to its chairperson Isa Samad, the authority is seeking an investigation into how the documents ended up in opposition leaders' hands.
"This is something highly regrettable and embarrassing...We hope police will investigate and take action against those responsible for leaking the confidential documents," he was reported by Utusan Malaysia as saying.
Isa (left) added that Felda was also carrying out an internal probe and will exercise more stringent care of documents presented at meetings to prevent further leaks.
Isa also said that the FGVH listing will go ahead and that company was not running at a loss as claimed by some opposition leaders.
Among others, the opposition possess a document detailing the structure of the FGVH listing, scheduled for presentation at a Koperasi Permodalan Felda (KPF) extraordinary meeting.
The meeting was later scrapped following a temporary injunction obtained by eight settlers and KPF members who are against the listing.
On Monday, PKR secretary general Saifuddin Nasution revealed separate Felda meeting minutes which aroused suspicion of judicial interference.
"For cases involving oil extraction rate (OER), where (the) trial dates have not been fixed, ensure that judges and lawyers are given understanding of the subject and the technical method of OER calculation.
"Ensure that Felda wins this case so that future cases will not be affected," the minutes of the June 27, 2011 meeting chaired by Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak reads.
