Terengganu Umno deputy chief Idris Jusoh, widely credited for grassroots work in bringing the state back into the Barisan Nasional fold, is shortly to be sworn in as menteri besar at the Istana Maziah.

He was quoted by Bernama as saying that preparations for the ceremony are being made with palace officials.

Idris further said he would announce his exco line-up within the next two days. BN won 28 of the 32 legislative assembly seats in the 11th general election yesterday.

However, a recount is currently underway for the Batu Buruk seat following agreement between PAS candidate Wan Abdul Muttalib@Wan Embong and BN's Che Mat Jusoh, as the seat was decided by a majority of 136 in the former's favour.

Idris took the Jertih state seat by beating PAS candidate Hassan Salleh with a majority of 2,047 votes, gaining 6,513 votes to Hassan's 4,466.
