Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin said improvement of the education system is not because the current system has no quality.

The education minister said the country has for decades implemented the education policy which is supported by an education system of quality.

"However, due to a more competitive global environment, we need to make the country's future more secure with human capital of quality.

"We believe there is a need to review our system, take stock of what we did  and make improvements," he said at 1Malaysia Alumni Charity Golf and PIBG of Sekolah Tinggi Muar here today.

Muhyiddin said that the efforts were initiated by his ministry with the establishment of a team of experts to study all aspects of the education system.

The ministry will also embark on a series of roadshows for dialogue with all interested parties to gather ideas and suggestions on improving the education system.

He said that all parties, including teachers, alumni, PIBG and parents are welcomed to provide feedback to strengthen the education system.

The golf charity is held to raise funds for the purchase of a school bus.

Muhyiddin is an alumni of the school.
