Menteri Besar Azizan Abdul Razak today presented two names to the Sultan of Kedah for the post of state executive councillors (exco members).
Azizan, who arrived at Istana Anak Bukit at 4.50pm and left about one hour later (5.40pm), told reporters outside the palace that the sultan has not yet consented to the names proposed.
“The sultan will give his consent later. It will take a little time,” he said, adding that the date of swearing in depends on the consent of the sultan and his calendar.
Phahrolrazi Zawawi and Dr Ismail Salleh did not take their oath on Feb 28 after declining re-appointment to the state exco.
Their term as state exco councillors officially ends yesterday (Wednesday).
Phahrolrazi, who is Kedah PAS deputy commissioner 1, cited disagreement with Azizan as the reason for declining re-appointment to the state exco.
On March 5, the PAS central committee ordered Phahrolrazi and Ismail to accept their re-appointment as Kedah state executive councillors.
