Barisan Nasional (BN) won three more state seats in Sabah - Labuk, Klias and Pantai Manis - after two opposition and an independent candidates withdrew from the contest.

According to a Bernama report today, the BN candidates are Michael Asang in Labuk, Lajim Ukin (Klias) and Abdul Rahim Ismail (Pantai Manis).

With the latest development, BN has so far won seven parliamentary seats and an equal number of state seats in Sabah.

PAS bagged one

On nomination day last Saturday, the ruling front won the parliamentary seats of Kalabakan, Beluran, Tawau, Beaufort, Papar, Kalabakan and Sipitang while the state seats were Tanjong Papat, Melalap, Apas and Sekong.

Nationwide, BN has 15 parliament and nine state seats uncontested while PAS has won one state constituency in Johor.

Under new EC guidelines, all nominees are allowed to withdraw their candidacy within three days from nomination day but their RM10,000 deposit would be forfeited.
