Kit Siang would make a better PM than Dr M
VOXPOP 'If Australia could accept a Chinese as finance minister, the US a black man as president, what is the problem...'
PAS should make Kit Siang its president, says Dr M
JimmyKL: I fully support the idea that race and religion should not be a consideration at all for electing the president of the party or even the prime minister of Malaysia. But are the party's members ready for that?
Will the DAP electorate (99 percent of DAP members are Chinese - refer to their website and you can see that 99 percent of their leaders are Chinese) at the grassroots level - allow a Muslim or a Malay or Iban or Kadazan or Dusun or Orang Asli or Kenyah or Kayan, etc, to become their party president?
Similarly with PAS - will the 100 percent Muslim members of PAS allow a non-Muslim and non-Malay to become their president or even vice-president?
This is the most important question. It's not about what the leaders say but what the grassroots' real sentiments are that is crucial.
Frankly speaking, I do not think this will ever happen as long as the grassroots membership of both parties remain mono-ethnic.
HangTuah: To be brutally frank Dr Mahathir Mohamad, I think DAP supremo Lim Kit Siang would make a better prime minister than the likes of you.
We would have more money for development, no racism, no ‘ketuanan Melayu', no massive corruption, better universities and colleges, no ISA, no 43,000 civil servants in the PM's Department, no senseless defence procurements, no massive illicit outflows, a better implementation of the NEP, no bankruptcy of the country, etc.
Anonymous_3f4a: Mahathir is clearly just being sarcastic and not being well-meaning. But then, what can be expected from a man who has taken the nation for a ride in his 22-year reign?
Hmmmmmm: So Mahathir is insinuating that in this country there is no possibility of a person of one race leading a party of another race or religion. So much for his confidence in this country. I wonder how our country reached this point.
JBGUY: Mahathir should just stay out of Malaysian politics. He has done enough damage and it will be a miracle for Malaysia to achieve Vision 2020.
He has single-handedly destroyed our vibrant economy and our fragile unity. His 22 years of misrule has alienated the races. Unfortunately, many Malaysians are ignorant of his role in pulling this country down.
Many Malays and Indians admire him without knowing his true nature. Most Chinese can see him for what he is and have abandoned the BN, and hopefully more Malays and Indians will also see the light.
Leongan: If Australia could accept a Chinese as finance minister, the US a black man as president, what is the problem for a Chinese to be PAS president?
Tengku Mahkota Pahang to step into khalwat case?
Alan Goh: After the acquittal of Anwar Ibrahim on Sodomy II charges, it is again sex and more sex charges against Pakatan Rakyat members.
It is either ceramah-busting by the Umno goons, or sex scandals/sex videotapes produced for voters consumption.
How is Malaysia going to be a developed nation by 2020 with the half-past-six type of leaders that we have in the country.
To all those hypocrites, please take a look at oneself in the mirror first and let the person who has no sin casts the first stone.
Rick Teo: Our country has come to the state where they are now prying into people's private lives. Who cares what they do behind the confines of their bedroom as long as they are not corrupt?
Is corruption not a more serious offence when billions are being pocketed by the Umno ministers and cronies? Having adulterous lives will not bankrupt a nation, but losing billions to corrupt politicians will.
Swkdayaks: This further supports and strengthens Anwar Ibrahim's claim that the Sodomy I and II cases and the sex video accusations against him were all conspiracies by Umno leaders to discredit him.
Now more and more of Umno leaders' evil plans and deeds are being exposed to the Malaysians public. Najib, Umno and the BN are now very, very desperate for votes from voters who now have become more and more aware of how evil Umno and the BN are.
Lets Be Fair: I just can't understand why one in public office has to get himself into such cases. Doesn't Pakatan have a standard of propriety conduct in addressing such matters?
Kelantanese: A friendly reminder to Muslim politicians from Pakatan, whoever you are helping in the future, please don't go to hotels or wherever alone.
Bring someone with you to avoid slander. Is that too much to ask? Don't tell me you guys don't know this?
20121221Disaster: Umno leaders are good for nothing. What they are good at is slandering and fist-fighting using thugs. But when it comes to a debate, no.
