The PAS central committee will meet its Kedah leaders tomorrow night to patch apparent cracks between state chief Azizan Abdul Razak (below) and his deputy, Phahrolrazi Zawawi.

azlanThis was decided at a three-hour  emergency meeting  of the PAS central committee in Kuala Lumpur last night, its vice-president Salahudin Ayub said.

Salahudin said the meeting will take place at 9pm in Alor Setar, but did not specify the venue.

“We will hold a dialogue between both parties to resolve the matter. We have decided what needs to be discussed,” he said when approached after the meeting ended close to midnight yesterday.    

Party wants to end feud by weekend


PAS deputy president Mohamad Sabu said the central committee had heard opinions on problems with the party’s leadership in Kedah, which were expressed in a cordial fashion.

Mohamed, who is widely known as Mat Sabu, also revealed that other parties in the dialogue would be its state assemblypersons in Kedah, as well as representatives from the Ulama and Youth wings.

pas special meeting 020312“We will all give our opinions. God willing, we will find a good solution,” said Mat Sabu (left), adding that the central committee was confident about resolving the problem by the weekend.

He added that all central committee members and state party heads from all over the country would attend the meeting.

Mat Sabu also expects Alor Mengkudu assemblyperson Dr Ismail Salleh, who with Phahrolzi declined to be sworn in as a state exco member on Tuesday, would also attend the meeting.
