Kuala Kedah PAS division chief Phahrolrazi Zawawi, who refused to continue as a Kedah state exco member, has issued a 14-day ultimatum to his colleague Amiruddin Hamzah, urging him to resign from the exco post he was just swore in.

According to a news report in today's Sinar Harian, Phahrolrazi claimed that by assuming the exco post, Amiruddin had breached the division's decision that all three assemblypersons in the division reject any appointment as state exco members.

There are three PAS assemblypersons in the Kuala Kedah division - Phahrolrazi (Pengkalan Kundor), Amiruddin (Anak Bukit) and Mohd Nasir Mustafa (Kubang Rotan).

Phahrolrazi told the Malay daily that the division secretary will deliver Amuriddin a show-cause letter, giving him 14 days to reply.

"We give him an ultimatum. If you want to be with Kuala Kedah PAS, he wil have to resign his exco member's post and the issue is solved. If Amiruddin wants to be with the menteri besar, he will be no longer be a part of Kuala Kedah PAS division," he was quoted as saying.

Amiruddin, who is also the division deputy chief, declined to comment.

"Never mind, I will wait for the letter which is said to be sent to me. After reading the letter, I wil answer," he told the daily.

On Wednesday, Phahrolrazi and Alor Mengkudu assemblyperson Ismail Salleh refused to continue their exco positions, citing difference of views with Menteri Besar Azizan Abdul Razak for their action.

They wanted Azizan to agree to undisclosed conditions if he wanted them to join the state government.
