Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak has announced Gabungan Wawasan Generasi Felda (GWGF) as being one of the three approved affiliate members of Barisan Nasional.

Najib, who is BN chairperson, said the two other organisations were Former Kemas Members Association and the Malay Contractors Association.

The three entities were among the 11 who applied to be BN’s affiliate members, he said after chairing the party supreme council meeting at Menara Dato Onn, Putra World Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur last night.

The rest of the applications were being screened and processed by the BN management committee, he added.

The meeting tonight included a briefing on the successful training and information programmes and warmly welcomed state-level visits by him and his deputy Muhyiddin Yassin which have been carried out so far, he said.

Commenting on the Himpunan Hijau 2.0 assembly which is reportedly going to be held on Feb 26, Najib said every party has the right to assemble under the Peaceful Assembly Act.

He said there was no need to act against them as the BN had its own programmes which drew much larger crowds.

Commenting on reports that Women, Family and Community Development Minister Shahrizat Abdul Jalil had conveyed her decision not to resign, Najib said: “No, not discussed yet. It is the prerogative of the prime minister”.
