Former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad has claimed that the US and Israel are keen on seeing a regime change in Malaysia, similar to efforts in the Middle East.

Writing in his blog chedet.cc, he said the US is uncomfortable with the Malaysian administration because it non-aligned, had good ties with China and Russia and does not support its policy towards Iran and other countries.

NONE“The candidate for the US and Israel to form a puppet government is Anwar Ibrahim. For a long time, they have forged a strong relationship with Anwar.

“It is the wish of the US, that when regime change happens in Malaysia, Anwar will become the prime minister and Malaysia might have diplomatic ties with Israel and distance itself from the Palestinian struggle.

“Thus, a puppet government would be established which would support all US efforts at world domination.”

Mahathir appeared to be taking aim at Anwar’s recent interview with the Wall Street Journal, in which the latter said he would support efforts “to protect the security of the state of Israel”.

In the same breath, Anwar had said that the legitimate interests of the Palestinians must also be protected.

Malaysia does not have diplomatic ties with Israel but government officials have admitted that they cannot bar private companies from trading with the country.
