Aspirasi president Mohd Shahar Abdullah (third from left) said the 'Aman Kampus' convoy could create an integrated network linking students with the alumni, non- governmental organisations and the community in empowering youths.
"The programme could also instil patriotism among students to support and understand government policies," he told reporters after the launch of the Malacca phase of the expedition at Rumah Seri Kenangan Cheng today.
Nineteen cars and four buses were flagged off by Tangga Batu MP Idris Haron at the second stop of the expedition after
Kuala Pilah, Negeri Sembilan yesterday.
Mohd Shahar said 180 students from 22 public institutions of higher learning, who took part in the convoy, would head for Pasir Gudang, Johor before making their way to Pahang, Terengganu, Kelantan, Perak, Penang, Kedah, Perlis and the final destination, Tanjung Karang, Selangor on Feb 19.
The highlight of 'Aman Kampus' convoy will be a peaceful assembly to be officiated by Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak at the Putra Stadium, Bukit Jalil on March 17.
