PAS spiritual leader Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat does not support the party's president Abdul Hadi Awang's offer not to contest in the next general election.

He added that as political leaders, they can serve until death if necessary, unlike public servants who are limited to working until retirement age.

Yesterday, opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim also called on Hadi not to withdraw from the next general election, describing him as an asset.

Meanwhile Utusan Malaysia reported today that PAS Ulama chief Harun Taib had sarcastically invited sacked former Selangor PAS commissioner Hasan Ali to attack the party.

"We have no problems with it because we're used to such problems and are prepared to respond to all allegations against PAS," he was quoted as saying.

Harun, viewed as being aligned with Hasan, had defended the latter prior to his sacking.
