your saySwkdayaks: Perkasa chief Ibrahim Ali, come to Sarawak and check the ownership of the companies which Chief Minister Abdul Taib Mahmud has granted logging concessions, licences for planted forests, leases for oil palm plantations and the leases of state land for housing development, quarrying, road construction and maintenance.

All these companies are owned by the same group of people - Taib's family members and relatives and cronies. These companies are 100 percent bumi owned.

I observe that Ibrahim dares not open his mouth on this matter because they are BN crooks.

TJK: Let's start a bumiputera-only equity fund and stock exchange. Currently, the allocated bumi shares are being sold back to the open market, and that's why the 30 percent equity is just a dream.

This is because the rich bumi will keep on buying and selling in the open market, making quick money.

Wira: If they use par value of companies at the time of public listing and not the market value for shareholding computation, the bumiputera community will never achieve 30 percent because 19 percent at par value means 45 percent at market value.

If they ever achieved 30 percent under such fraud, it would mean the bumiputera would have then controlled over 75 percent of the economy.

Jedi_Who: The 30 percent equity for the bumis is not racist... it's actually greed.

Dr PM: Ibrahim, what about shares in Permodalan Nasional Bhd, who are the shareholders? Have these shares been included in your calculation when arguing that the NEP target has not been attained?

AnSoN: To be fair, give the Malays the allocation of 67 percent in accordance with the population ratio, but fairly spread it out among the really poor Malay peasants, not the fat and rich cronies.

Don't use the nation's coffer to enrich the few cronies, help all the poor regardless of race, religion or creed. And don't blast those stupid slogans such as fighting for race, religion and the royalty.

Keturunan Malaysia: Ibrahim Ali, you had called for 67 percent equity for the Malays at one stage, why have you now reduced it to 30 percent? Is this the Chinese New Year angpow for your open house today?

Or are you saying Malays as a whole are weak and incapable and need help permanently? Be careful, the real self-made Malays are going to skin you alive if you dare say so.

Trumpet Call: After 54 years of independence and all the long years of race-based affirmative action, the majority of the bumiputeras are still behind in commerce and education. Why?

The main reason is because those that largely benefited from such policies are the elite few who have strong Umno strings to pull.

A vast number of Malays and the majority of bumiputeras in Sabah and Sarawak are still poor. So, what will happen if this trend continues? Two things:

1) The bumiputeras will have to live with the tag that they are never good enough to compete with others on equal ground - that they always need a crutch to walk. If I were a Malay, I won't be proud of that perception.

2) What's worse, that the rich among the Malays will be richer still, especially those with strong Umno connections, but the poor will still be exploited. What a shame.

20121221Disaster: In the eyes of the Umnoputras, genuine Malays are always backward, weak and inferior. Hence they need protection from Umno.

Instead of raising Malays' competency, identifying the Malays' various skills and strengthening them, they give them the ‘ketuanan' slogan to fool them and get them to take advantage of other races, making them arrogant and content like the sleeping rabbit in the tale of the tortoise and the hare.
