Political differences do not prevent the Perak and Kelantan state governments from helping each other in attracting tourists to visit the two states.

This was proven when the chairman of the Kelantan state committee on local government, culture and tourism Takiyuddin Hassan together with a delegation of about 60 people including cultural groups and participants of the motorcycle convoy visited the state today to promote the Visit Kelantan Year 2012.

The group was greeted on arrival by Perak Menteri Besar Zambry Abdul Kadir followed by a luncheon at the State Secretariat Building in Ipoh.

Zambry, in his brief speech, said he hoped the visit could foster closer cooperation between the two states.

"I am confident that with this relationship, the Kelantan government can also help to promote existing tourism packages by the Perak government in conjunction with the Visit Perak Year 2012," he said.

Meanwhile, Takiyuddin said he was happy that his delegation was received by the number one leader in Perak.

"Kelantan and Perak will cooperate to exchange tourists. We will request that the Perak government assist to promote the state of Kelantan to tourists visiting Perak and we will also do likewise for Perak," he said.
