Anwar is only making empty promises, says Sabah CM

Chief Minister Musa Aman has described the promise made by Opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim to the people of Sabah, including increasing the oil royalty to 20 per cent, as "empty promises" to gain support.

He said it was normal for the opposition to come up with all sorts of promises especially ahead of the election.
"This is what they do... they will promise everything, even the moon and the stars, because they know that they are not the ones ruling the country; they are not the government.
"All these are empty promises.
"I believe the people of Sabah know that these promises cannot be fulfilled," he told reporters after attending Sabah MCA Chinese New Year open house in Kota Kinabalu.
Musa, who is state BN chairman, was asked to comment on the speech made by Anwar at PKR open house in Kota Kinabalu yesterday.
He hoped that the people of Sabah would not be easily taken in by the promises made by the opposition.
"I believe the people know which one is good and which one is not. They know that the BN is the best choice because it keeps its words," he said.
Citing the RM100 assistance to school students, RM200 book vouchers for university students and the RM500 1Malaysia People's Assistance (BR1M) for households earning RM3,000 or less a month, Musa said it proved that the BN fulfilled what it had promised the people.
This, he said, was unlike the opposition parties "which only know how to make empty promises."
