5,000-strong army camp in Marang

The construction of an army camp here which will house 5,000 personnel is expected to spur the local economic development, state executive councillor Yahya Khatib Mohamad said.
Terengganu has approved an 800-hectare area in Kampung Tebuang Jenang for the camp - expected to spur businesses.

"We hope that this, along with other projects, will create a spin-off for the local economy," he told Bernama.
The state government had approved an 800-hectare area in Kampung Tebuang Jenang for the camp, he said, adding that the camp would also help increase the number of students at the under-capacity SK Jenang.
