Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak today attended the Chinese New Year open houses organised by Barisan Nasional (BN) component parties MCA and Gerakan in Kuala Lumpur.

Najib, accompanied by his wife Rosmah Mansor, attended the MCA open house at the party’s headquarters in Jalan Ampang.

He was greeted on arrival at 9.50am by MCA president Dr Chua Soi Lek, amid the beating of the drums and dragon and lion dance performances.

Present were Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin and wife Norainee Abdul Rahman as well as former prime ministers Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.

Cabinet ministers and other BN leaders including Gerakan president Dr Koh Tsu Koon, MIC president G Palanivel and PPP president M Kayveas were also at the open house.

Najib and wife later attended the Gerakan open house at Menara PGRM in Cheras.

The prime minister is scheduled to attend the Penang BN Chinese New Year open house at Tanjong City Marina in George Town, and the 1Malaysia Open House in Sitiawan, Perak.
