Year of the Dragon will signify the turning point

I refer to your news report entitled ‘MCA video implies DAP only knows how to talk’ and would like to observe that it is a timely reminder for the Year of the Dragon. The Year of the Dragon will ultimate signify the turning point in Malaysian politics when more than 13 million voters cast their vote sometime later this year.
Among the Chinese, it is an election to settle the long standing tussle between MCA and Gerakan versus DAP for the command of Chinese political representation. Among the Malays, it is the struggle between PKR and PAS on one side versus Umno for the control of Malay politics.
Having said that, the people in the peninsula are actually not aware of the fact that there are 56 parliamentary seats in Sabah and Sawarak. As the two most dominant races; Malay and Chinese fight each other to death, East Malaysia bumiputra political representation will dominate the federal government, whether BN or Pakatan succeed in the next general election.
By all observations, the bumiputra voting bloc will stay with BN, thereby reinforcing the general belief that BN will stay put in Putrajaya. Of course, the bumiputra voting bloc in Sabah and Sarawak will be making more political demands as they represent the backbone of federal government. It will not be surprising to end up with a candidate from Sabah and Sarawak being made the deputy prime minister after the next general election.
Back to the case of the MCA video for the Year of the Dragon, it must be pointed out that DAP leaders are guilty of telling the Chinese that their party could solve all the Chinese problems once Pakatan forms the next government. Likewise PAS has been telling the whole country that it will be zero crime rate once Hudud laws is implemented.
Are you going to believe all these political talk shows? How could multi-racial politics be so simple and straightforward ? However, being seated on the opposition bench make both PAS and DAP very capable of political talk shows. It will work to their advantage, before they sit on the ruling bench. Once they are elected, the ugly realities of politics will undermine all supposedly smart and innovative politics.
US President Barack Obama did campaign and talk like a superman when running for office in 2008. What happened soon after taking office has proven that the US president is not so superman after all. However, superman or no superman, voters will be generally looking for a change whenever their feel like doing so for all sort of reasons.
The Chinese community in Malaysia is harping for a change for all the reasons well-known to themselves after 50 long years. It would not be so difficult for DAP to defeat MCA or Gerakan in Chinese-dominated areas as the general sentiments have solidified and would remain so until the next GE.
To be fair, it must be pointed out that neither MCA and DAP is capable of resolving Chinese problems. Likewise neither Umno or PAS could resolve the Malay problems. Politics is just a process to tackle on-going problems at all times.
However, the average Malaysian Chinese has actually stopped listening to logical and sensible explanations as such. Whatever has been said and done thus far since March 2008, most of them are just waiting for that right moment to register their protest votes in a big way.
