With Chinese New Year around the corner and the 13th general election impending, MCA has posted a video on YouTube attempting to kill two birds with one stone - extending its festive wishes and simultaneously taking a stab at its arch-rival DAP.

The one-and-a-half-minute video, uploaded by the MCA headquarters three days ago, insinuates that the DAP only knows how to talk but is unable to deliver on its promises.

It depicts what appears to be two brothers - the younger man wearing a red and white shirt, and  the older man in a white shirt with blue collar.

Coincidentally, the blue-collared white shirt is the MCA party uniform for men, while red and white are DAP’s colours.

In the video, the younger brother is seen bossing around his elder brother who is busy cleaning the house.

A woman who is perhaps their mother then appears and passes a pail of water and a piece of cleaning cloth to the young man, indicating that he should help out.

Immediately after the mother leaves, the young man scoots off, leaving his elder brother to work alone.

The plaques display a number of MCA’s slogans such as ‘MCA Works for Education’ and ‘1MCA Education Loan Scheme’.

The video ends with the family having their reunion dinner, alongside festive greetings from MCA.

The reverse is true, charges DAP

Contacted on Thursday, MCA’s publicity bureau deputy chief Loh Seng Kok declined to comment on the video.

NONEMeanwhile, DAP assistant national publicity secretary Teo Nie Ching (left) vehemently rejected the implied accusations in the video.

She argued that the video was actually insinuating that the MCA leaders are the ones who talk a lot, but cannot perform.

The Serdang MP singled out Health Minister Liow Tiong Lai, Tourism Minister Dr Ng Yen Yen and Deputy Education Minister Wee Ka Siong as examples of failed MCA leaders.

“It is good that MCA gives the public such a reminder during this festive season. Indeed, MCA has too many leaders who only know how to talk.”
