S'gor Umno talks well-attended, says Noh

The people in Selangor are more receptive to the ceramah (talks) and programmes organised by the state Umno, Selangor Umno deputy liaison chief Noh Omar said today.

He said all the ceramah, whether major, modest or small, organised by Umno in each of the 22 parliamentary constituencies in Selangor were well-attended.
"Selangor Umno, through its ceramah, is exposing the weaknesses identified in the 2012 Selangor budget and comparing it with the people-friendly federal budget.
"It seems that people are becoming receptive to this issue," he told reporters after giving out 1Malaysia People's Aid (BR1M) cash vouchers to 400 people in Tanjong Karang.
Noh, who is agriculture and agro-based industries minister, condemned the 'Jom Shopping' (Let's Go Shopping) programme introduced by the Selangor PKR-led government, saying it did not benefit all the eligible senior citizens in the state.
He claimed that only 20,000 of the 160,000 senior citizens aged 60 and above received the RM100 shopping voucher through the programme.
Commenting on BR1M, Noh said the relevant authorities have processed about 100,000 of the total 300,000 applications received so far in Selangor.
Noh, who is Tanjong Karang MP, said about 20,000 applications were received in his constituency.
