Gerakan liaison chairperson Senator A Kohilan Pillay said today.
He said the candidates are young and energetic individuals, have the aspirations of youngsters at hear and can endear themselves to the people.
“We want candidates who can not only go down to the ground but also listen to the people's grievances and be close to them,” he told a news conference to announce the Gerakan Chinese New Year open house for the Teratai state constituency.
Besides Teratai, Gerakan lost the Bukit Lanjan, Kota Alam Shah and Bukit Gasing state seats as well as the Puchong parliamentary seat in the 2008 election.
Kohilan Pillay, who is deputy foreign minister, said the Chinese New Year open house will be held on Jan 29, from 3pm to 6pm, at Pandan Perdana Lake Club Square.
He said between 3,000 and 5,000 people are expected to attend the open house, during which various performances will also be held.
