A PKR grassroots leader fended off accusations that Lembah Pantai MP Nurul Izzah Anwar is merely taking credit for BN’s efforts to help her constituents and not doing her job.

"Actually, Federal Territories and Urban Wellbeing Minister Raja Nong Chik Raja Zainal Abidin is the one who should be worried because many had said that he did not perform his duties for the whole of the Federal Territories, which include 11 parliamentary constituencies plus Putrajaya and Labuan," said Lembah Pantai PKR division deputy chief Mohd Amin Mian.

NONERaja Nong Chik (left) had reportedly said on Sunday that, “PKR only knows to criticise, but they had done nothing constructive in the past four years.

"Only when we (BN) succeeded in something, do they try to hitch a ride.

“For example, when we obtained funding from Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak to paint houses in Taman Sri Sentosa and Terminal Sejahtera, they said it was due to pressure from PKR.

“When did they pressure us? No such thing. They did not do anything in the past two years,” Sinar Harian quoted the Lembah Pantai Umno division chief as saying.

‘We can see what you did’

In his rebuttal against Raja Nong Chik, Mohd Amin claimed that the senator focussed mostly on one constituency and ignored the rest.

Mohd Amin also made several claims that implicated Raja Nong Chik, including:

  • The minister had allegedly used Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) funds for his own political interests;
  • He asked whether the contract for painting the People’s Housing Project (PPR) flats were openly tendered or given to cronies;
  • That Kampung Baru residents were disappointed with the Kampung Baru Development Corporation Bill.

In addition, Mohd Amin said if there are any problems with drainage, rubbish, roads, or mosquitoes, it means Raja Nong Chik is not doing his job because all these are DBKL’s responsibilities.

“Therefore I would like to remind Raja Nong Chik again, remember that Federal Territory residents can see everything that he does,” he said.
