A former minister was interviewed by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) yesterday over claims of allegedly receiving RM300,000 as contributions.

The minister, who is now an MP, was said to have received it from a company last year.

Sources quoted by the New Straits Times said the former minister spent several hours at the MACC office.

It quoted that a blog had highlighted that the former minister received the money on April 7, last year from the contractor of the crooked bridge project, and the blogger questioned the purpose and true nature of the contribution.

The blogger has also urged the MACC to investigate.

In the evening, MACC director of investigations Mustafar Ali confirmed to Malaysiakini that it had called in the former minister.

“Yes, I can confirm that the MACC called the person to assist in investigations,” said Mustafar.
