With police investigations on the controversial National Feedlot Corporation (NFC) reported concluded, its top executive today clarified the allegation that directors of the company have been receiving huge unjustifiable salaries.
The firm’s chief executive officer Wan Shahinur Izmir Salleh says the relevant authorities have the information on their payroll.

In a statement issued late today, NFC chief executive officer Wan Shahinur Izmir Salleh (left) clarified that the directors were earning nowhere near the overstated figures, saying that the relevant authorities have the information on their payroll and the bank statements to match.
"The highly exaggerated figures first emerged from a mysterious prank blogger who had drawn the media’s attention to it.
"Since then, the blogger has disappeared and his erroneous post continues to be picked up by the public," he said.
Izmir reassured that the public should not be unduly alarmed by such postings on the Internet that offered distortions and incorrect information as the facts are with the relevant authorities.
In a statement issued earlier today, DAP's Ipoh Timor MP Lim Kit Siang claimed that Mohammad Salleh Ismail - the husband of Women, Family and Community Development Minister Shahrizat Abdul Jalil - draws RM100,000 salary monthly as NFC chairperson.
Their son Izmir, 31, according to Lim, is paid RM45,000, while another son Wan Shahinur Izran, 27, earns RM35,000 as executive director. Their daughter Wan Izzanah Fatimah, 25, is claimed to draw RM35,000 a month as the other director.
Lim however did not state the source of the information.
The company, which had been accused by PKR of abusing the RM250 million government soft loan facility, has also indicated that it would in due course come out to clarify other misnomers and distortions that have affected public perception of the company.
“For a start, nowhere and at no time has the Auditor-General (AG) described in his 2010 report that NFC was in a ‘mess’. The word ‘mess’ has never been used in the audit report, and the public can download a copy of the audit report from the AG Department website to confirm it.
“Clearly this is another kind of allegation made out falsely and mischievously,” said Izmir.
English daily The Star first quoted the 2010 AG report in a report published last October as saying that the mega project is in a ‘mess’, but this was later denied by Salleh.
'Corporate cards meant for business expenses’
On PKR strategy director Rafizi Ramli's allegation over credit card expenses, Izmir echoed his brother Izran’s statement earlier, clarifying that these are corporate cards meant for business development expenses.
“There are no personal expenses as alleged. The business development expenses by the four directors reflect the magnitude of its multi-million ringgit sales,” said Izmir, stressing that the facts are with the relevant authorities.
Izmir further reassured that despite the assets of the company being frozen by the authorities at the onset of investigations last year and in which the directors, management and staff have been cooperating with the authorities, operations at NFC are continuing as normal so that nationwide beef supplies are not disrupted.
“The 4,500 heads of cattle are not abandoned and 100 employees are not left jobless. As for operational expenses, the company has now to apply to the police for clearance before disbursements can be made,” he added.
