It looks as though, like the cruise ship Costa Concordia, that Pakatan has hit the rocks and rolled over when in full flight.

Like the Concordia (recently wrecked off the Italian coastline), there is a high risk that Pakatan will slide off the rocks and disappear into deep water - forever.

I cannot fathom why Pakatan, riding on the euphoria of Anwar's acquittal would destroy much of the goodwill they have accumulated in such a pathetically weak, amateurishly orchestrated show of disunity.

What beats me is that most Malaysiakini commentators seem to be satisfied with that performance.

Pakatan had the world at their feet with Umno's bumbling, fumbling, corrupt incompetence over the last few weeks.

But they did nothing to capitalise on that situation. All we got was even more bumbling and fumbling and vague promises to correct the errors of the past.

Unfortunately, it's been shown that the promises of Malaysians are pretty empty.

It should an automatic assumption that Pakatan would undo ASAP all the evil that BN has imposed on Malaysians.

What Malaysians need to know is how you are going to deal with all those injustices of the past. Because, if you can't tell us how, then we begin to think you might not know how.

It's a bit like heaven, isn't it? Pakatan is asking Malaysians to give them the key to the treasury coffers but they don't want to reveal what they will be doing with Malaysian's money. Big ask, empty promises.

So, they are going to reverse all the evils of the past. I'll accept that some of that work will take time and will be costly, but a lot can be achieved overnight at very little cost. Then what?

There are serious internal problems plaguing Malaysia that need to be addressed quickly. What will they do about those?

But more serious are the potential problems that might be imposed on Malaysia from external forces. What will they do to prepare for the worst? What will they do if the worst eventuates?

This is what government is about - planning for the future. Unfortunately, government in the past has been devoid of planning with Malaysia lurching from one crisis to the next.

The response is either ad hoc ill-considered and band aid remedies leaving the door wide open for corruption or the good old Malaysian fall- back solution 'do nothing and hope the problem will go away'.

So what's the problem? Does Pakatan not know how to plan for the future? If that's the case you had better learn fast, because if you don't you are just another power greedy party with no direction ... Just like Umno.

Or is there so much division within Pakatan that you can't reach consensus on anything. If that's the case then ditch PAS, because a party which is obsessed with check-out chicks and cutting off people's hands has no business being involved with government.

If you really have the future welfare of Malaysia and all Malaysians at heart then you will stand by your principles of honesty, freedom and equality.

Then you will go to the polls bearing that banner and showing that you know how to govern by demonstrating upfront what you plan to do and how you will do it.
