Former Keadilan Youth secretary Lokman Noor Adam will know his fate in the party on Monday as the disciplinary committee had reached a decision regarding his case.

However, party deputy president Abdul Rahman Othman when contacted today remained tightlipped on the decision, saying it was "confidential in line with president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail's instructions".

Lokman, a former Internal Security Act (ISA) detainee, was recently sacked by Youth chief Mohd Ezam Mohd Noor who accused him of allegedly trying to lure Keadilan members to join Umno together with him.

Subsequently, Lokman retaliated by accusing Ezam of holding clandestine meetings with Umno leaders and of financial irregularities in the party.

The matter was then raised at the Keadilan supreme council meeting and it was agreed that a committee would investigate the allegations of both leaders.

The next day, Lokman retracted his allegations.

Lokman's denial

In a related development, Lokman today denied being part of the 12 Keadilan members who had met Deputy Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak on Tuesday to discuss their intention to join Umno.

Malaysiakini had initially reported that he was part of the group, who were allegedly promised RM500,000 each to join the ruling party.

"I was never part of the group," he stressed, adding that he had visited the Keadilan deputy president at his residence that night at about 9pm after which he had returned home.

"At that time I was at Abdul Rahman's house to talk to him about my suspension and my case before the disciplinary committee," he said.

While confirming that Lokman was at his house that night, Abdul Rahman added: "But whether he was part of the group or not, I am not sure."

The 12 Keadilan members were said to have met the deputy premier from 7pm to 9pm.

On Wednesday, Prime Minister and Umno president Abdullah Ahmad Badawi confirmed that he had received the applications from the Keadilan members.

They are Keadilan Information chief Ruslan Kasim, Youth vice-president Zahid Mat Arip, former Youth leader Hamdan Taha, the party's media organ Seruan Keadilan editor Hanapiah Man, Bentong state chief Dr Abdul Wahid Ahmad Suhaimie, Youth exco Fakhrol Azman Abu Bakar, former Youth exco Shamsul Bahari Shamsuddin, Federal Territory Youth vice-chief Rosli Mohd Johar, Kuala Kerus state chief Zainuddin Awang, Simunjan state chief Bujang Ulis, Negeri Sembilan Youth vice-chief Rusli Mohd Shariff and Pahang Youth exco Jeffry Nizam.
