The Independent parliamentarian for Pasir Mas, Ibrahim Ali, is offering his MP allowance of a month as reward to facilitate the arrest of the Jan 9 bomber.

Ibrahim told Malay daily Sinar Harian in an SMS message today that he welcomed the RM10,000 reward offered yesterday by Inspector-General of Police Ismail Omar.

NONE"To help the police, I am offering one month's MP wages, in addition to the RM10,000 offered by the police.

"I hope this will spur those who have information about the individual or group involved in this despicable act, which has disrupted peace," Ibrahim said in the SMS.

In an SMS to Malaysiakini later in the day, Ibrahim said his MP allowance is RM6,000 a month and that is the amount he is offering to top up the reward offered by the police.

Yesterday, Ismail through the police Facebook page said the reward of RM10,000 was being offered for information leading to the arrest of the culprit or culprits behind the three explosions during the pro-Anwar rally on Monday.

Meanwhile, police have called on distributors of alarm clocks for information of anyone buying three of the clocks at a time from them recently.

The alarm clocks that were used in the improvised electrical device which exploded during the gathering at the Jalan Duta Court Complex were the cheap type, Kuala Lumpur Criminal Investigation Department head Ku Chin Wah said in the Royal Malaysian Police Facebook page tonight.

The three explosions near the Kuala Lumpur court complex resulted in four people being injured and a number of cars and motorcycles damaged.
