I find the whole discussion on Hasan Ali extremely silly, in that he appears to believe he has some god given right to be in the Selangor exco.

Regardless of his religious convictions whether sincere or a show (I tend to believe the latter), the fundamental issue that Hasan and his supporters can't seem to get through their thick heads is that he is, first and foremost, a government servant on the rakyat's payroll.

Not on PAS' payroll, or God's payroll, and not the Muslims' payroll, but on the payroll of all Malaysians. His job, even as exco in charge of Islam, is to take care of all religions.

Murtad or not, that is his personal agenda. A public servant has no business maligning Christians in the course of his duty to so-call protect Islam. If Hasan feels so strongly about murtad, he should form his own NGO and resign, and not use the rakyat's money for his personal religious platform.

That said, he is part of the Pakatan government of which PAS is party to, so to differ with PAS on Pakatan's system of governance (with regards to non discrimination and non racial style of administration) is a clear break with the both organisations.

Therefore he has no business being part of the administration. If he feels that his stand is bigger than Pakatan's, he should quit and form his own party, or join Perkasa or Umno. It seems Hasan is happy to rub shoulders with them.

He has absolutely no excuse for breaking ranks with the government that Selangor people voted in.

He has no excuse for attending Himpun if Pakatan does not support it, not even in his own capacity, as that conflicts with his official position. That excuse he gave is just rubbish.

Himpun, as far as I am concerned, is racist and religio-chauvinist.

I do not agree with Christian evangelism as much as Hasan, but I do not condone maligning Christians in general and publicly creating suspicion and hatred for Christians, proof or no proof.

Himpun is a major attack on religious harmony and understanding, it draws a clear divide between Islam and the rest, and with all the nationwide chest beating, is a clear affront to our fundamental freedoms.

Yet it is allowed to go on, and on and on, which shows there is no IMalaysia, or at least, no IMalaysia for non Muslim-Malays. And Hasan clearly states where he stands on this issue, he is clearly Malay-Muslim first.

So why stay on in Pakatan? Why stay in office? Non-Muslims pay your salary too, Hasan. We do not pay you to continue to insult us, while hiding behind religion.
