Beaufort Umno lodged a police report today urging investigation against a web portal which it claimed had insulted the division chief Lajim Ukin, who is Deputy Housing and Local Government Minister.
Its secretary Jusih Sarin said Beaufort Umno regretted the actions of the portal which had resorted to foul language and caricature to ridicule Lajim.
“We are taken aback by the portal’s use of language such as ‘suka melompat’ (engaging in party-hopping) and also the use of a caricature of a frog,” he told reporters after lodging the report at the city police station in Kota Kinabalu, accompanied by 20 division members.
“We made this report because we don’t want Lajim to feel that he is alone in this.
“We still need his leadership because he is a leader who cares for the people and is close to the community,” he said.
