Saiful Bukhari Azlan has said he accepts the Sodomy II verdict, but hopes that the prosecution will bring the case to the Court of Appeal.
Earlier, he tweeted that he deserved justice, alluding that he maintains his allegations against PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim.
“If I do not get justice in this world, in the next, for sure (I would),” he tweeted.
The posting appeared about an hour after the High Court judge acquitted Anwar of the sodomy charge.
“I will remain clam, pray and be patient,” tweeted Saiful (left) further.
Saiful, who was not present in court this morning for the delivery of the verdict, repeated on his blog that he was “accepted the verdict and respects it”.
However, he said it was his right to receive due process up till the “highest judicial authority”.
“Therefore, my family and I hope that the prosecution can file the case and bring it to the Court of Appeal,” he said.
This morning the long-drawn sodomy trial concluded with a surprise acquittal in the midst of high drama that included bomb attacks outside the Duta Court.
The 87 days of hearings that began in 2008 started when complainant Saiful accused the opposition leader of sodomising him on June 26 that year.
Justice Mohamad Zabidin Mohd Diah presided over the case.
