Yet, apart from coming across as a toady with this statement, one suspects former Selangor PAS commissioner Hasan Ali is deliberately making Pakatan Rakyat susceptible to another round of BN's nonsense, i.e. they might well play up the hudud fear all over again to hoodwink unwitting voters.

PAS would do well to axe Hasan from their ranks sooner rather than later. At the current rate, his presence in the party is doing more damage than good.

Lets Be Fair: Hasan's intention is to damage Pakatan's popularity and instil undue apprehension amongst the non-Malays. His characteristic is worst than a crocodile - he will eat his friends too.

James1067: One episode has just closed, he stirs up another. Pakatan is not made up of PAS only, but also DAP and PKR.

Let's leave it to the leaders in Pakatan to decide when the time comes. Hasan, you have closed the doors for Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim, but you don't know the future.

Milosevic: The reason a bigot and uninspiring person like Hasan Ali can stir the hornet's nest is because PKR has failed to produce a convincing alternative to Anwar, and PAS has yet to have a progressive, broad-minded Muslim - a universal thinker who can transcend religious and racial hierarchies - at its helm.

Anwar was too engulfed in thinking of the party in terms of people loyal to him, and his aspirations. The deputy should have been someone of prime-ministerial material, someone who could command the respect of the top leaders in the other opposition parties as well as the rakyat in general.

This would have been logical for a party thinking in terms of national priorities rather than personal and family power.

In general, citizens can't help but think about the type of prime minister they can identify with. The talk about of collective leadership is only mildly reassuring. There should have been an convincing alternative to Anwar already worked out.

Lim Chong Leong: "If I had the power to make the suggestion..." Well Hasan Ali, you don't have the power. Just shut up, no one will say you are mute.

Why can't Anwar Ibrahim be PM even if convicted? There can be stay of execution pending appeal and when Pakatan takes over, ‘kangaroos' will be replaced with proper judges and the conviction is bound to be overturned.

This is simply because sperm cannot remain in pristine condition after spending days inside an anus that has not been washed or defecated.

And an anus that was examined to be without forced penetration by the first doctor cannot suddenly be penetrated by the time of the second examination took place unless there is a sinister intervention.

They might as well burn him in public for witchcraft if they are to convict Anwar for sodomy.

Mirror On the Wall: In the event Pakatan wins, I hope there will be an immediate judicial review of Anwar's case. If the review is fair, I'm sure Anwar will be freed. Hasan's suggestion is mere conjecture. Why hasn't Hasan thought of this, I wonder?

Changeagent: All said, I am just glad that Hasan Ali didn't nominate himself to be a potential PM.


Hasan Ali: I'm not going to attend Anwar rally

Ferdtan: We didn't see Hasan Ali attended any rally (of course, other than those sponsored by Umno like Himpun) - even those officially supported by central PAS - like Bersih 1.0 and 2.0.

Umno, your Hasan Ali has been neutralised. There is no value in him anymore. He had lost his credibility completely when he denied/disputed with PAS spiritual leader Nik Aziz Nik Mat that he did not apologise to him, as reported in Harakah.

Harakah rebutted him with the full transcript of the interview with Nik Aziz. So who is the liar?

Anonymous: There is no need for anyone to tell the students what they should so. If they are smart enough to be university students, they are surely smart enough to think for themselves.

Fencesitter: Hasan, whether you are there or not is not important. It is best if you are not there as we know you have no good intentions.

There is no way Pakatan will break up without Anwar. People like Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, Nurul Izzah Anwar, Abdul Hadi Awang, Tok Guru Nik Aziz, Lim Kit Siang and Lim Guan Eng will even be more resolved to carry on.

Be Fair: Hasan Ali, you have no right or privilege to name who should be next PM. Jan 9 is a national issue, it's not just about Anwar and his family. This verdict will affect Malaysia and all of us.

We will see if the judge is just or biased. In future, will those who steal bicycles be jailed while those who pocket millions of ringgit walk free?
