Barely a week after retracting his allegation on mismanagement of funds within Keadilan, the party's sacked youth secretary Lokman Noor Adam has made revelations about alleged secret meetings between youth chief Mohd Ezam Mohd Nor and Umno leaders.

He made the revelations in a statement alleging that Ezam had held secret meetings with Selangor Mentri Besar Dr Mohd Khir Toyo, Umno vice president Muhammad Muhd Taib and Deputy Education Minister Aziz Shamuddin.

In the statement, Lokman warned that he would not hesitate to reveal more if Ezam fails to stop attacking his (Lokman's) credibility as a party leader.

"I am warning Ezam, if he fails to stop playing dirty politics, I will not hesitate to expose more secrets (which will be backed up) with evidence in the form of bank statements and receipts that I have kept," he said in the statement which was made available to malaysiakini .

The friction between Lokman and Ezam came out in the open on Jan 26 when Ezam sacked him for allegedly urging party members to defect to Umno - an allegation which Lokman had repeatedly denied.

Lokman had retaliated by stating that his relationship with Ezam turned sour after he had openly criticised mismanagement of funds in the party, money which he said should be channeled to safeguard the welfare of party workers.

Unfounded statement

However, Ezam's decision was upheld by the party supreme council which also suspended Lokman as supreme council member pending investigations by an independent committee.

Lokman then made a surprising move by retracting his earlier allegations claiming that his statement was unfounded.

When contacted today, Lokman denied withdrawing the retraction made last Friday stating that he merely wanted to expose the unfair treatment by Ezam and his supporters.

"I made the retraction after Ezam had agreed to retract his allegations against me. We had also agreed to stop condemning each other. But it seems he is not willing to fulfill that agreement and I will not tolerate that," he said.

In the statement, Lokman claimed that Ezam had attacked him through a ghost writer who had recently wrote an article published by the Agenda Daily website.

He alleged that the article had not only attacked his credibility but had also belittled his contribution to the party.

Lokman also said that Ezam has no right to call him a traitor just because he had admitted to a few individuals that he was "disappointed with Keadilan and was considering leaving the party".

"If he can call me traitor, then he is a bigger traitor because he had not only met several Umno leaders to whom he had expressed intention to rejoin Umno.

"Since his release from ISA (Internal Security Act) detention, he had met Dr Khir Toyo, Muhammad Muhd Taib and Aziz Shamsuddin," he claimed.

"I myself had booked the meeting room at the hotel and made payments using Ezam's credit card. What business does he have to meet Aziz Shamsudin, the main conspirator responsible for putting Anwar Ibrahim in jail?"

He said the warning was also extended to a few other individuals including the party information chief Khalid Jaafar whom he claimed had continuously pressured the party leadership to have him (Lokman) sacked from the party.

"Don't wait until I expose the funds that he (Khalid) received from outside the country through his private company," he said.

No agreement

Meanwhile, Ezam denied making any agreement with Lokman stating that the latter had made the retraction voluntarily.

"I have made enough statement regarding Lokman and his antic and will not waste any more time on him. I don't think any sensible person would entertain such an unstable person. I will let the party decide his fate," he said.

He also refused to comment on the alleged secret meetings as claimed by Lokman.

"I have said earlier that I may meet Umno leaders but have never made any pact that will jeopardise or betray the party's struggle. I think a lot of people who have worked with me will vouch for that," said Ezam.

"This is a democratic country, he can expose as many things as he likes. Whether he can prove them or not is another thing. I will instruct my lawyers to appropriately handle the allegations he makes concerning me."

Like Ezam, Khalid also refused to respond to the allegations made by Lokman whom he described as "unstable and unreliable".

"I will not waste my time on him. He makes accusation, retracts them, then makes more allegations. That just tells you what type of a person he really is. He is not worth my time."
