vox populi small thumbnailTrumpet Call: Praise God for people of high integrity like former Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) adviser Robert Phang, who is not afraid to be challenged and in the final analysis, come through clean and stronger.

People like him can speak with their heads held up high and we all listen, unlike the crooked politicians we have abused their high office for dirty money.

When the corrupt ministers make their speeches, people despise them and even curse them under their breath. No matter how rich they are, it's all ill-gotten gains that cannot see the light of day. Shame on them all.

Bender: How can you do the honourable thing (i.e. resign) if you known darn well that you're not honourable?

In your case, Phang, you knew you were not guilty, that's why you dared to resign. It's an honourable thing to do and you know you have nothing to fear.

In the NFC (National Feedlot Corporation) case, it's clear that the ‘menteri' (minister) and her family have dishonoured themselves. How on earth are they going take the same action as you did, i.e. being honourable and resign?

We have this saying: ‘Berani kerana benar'. How can you act ‘berani' if you're far from ‘benar'?

Swipenter: They are high on the gravy train. Asking them to get down from the gravy train is a very tall order.

In fact, all Umnoputras are on the trip together on this gravy train at the expense of the country and us. The only way for them to resign is for us to stop the trip and stop supplying them with gravy.

And this is where we as voters have the moral obligation to do so and the chance is just round the bend.

AngryCow: Everyone has dirty hands, who will want to resign? No one dares to touch Shahrizat, otherwise she will expose the rest and the whole boat will sink. That is why she can still be arrogant at the Umno assembly.

The only way out is to change the government. Please perform your duty as a responsible Malaysian. Do something for our children and the future generations.

Up2U: If there is honour among thieves, then she and her husband, and including many among her peers, should rightfully resign... but then, they will maintain their innocence and stay in office until proven guilty.

Even then, they will appeal and stay in office to intimidate their colleagues and ensure that ‘you scratch my back, I will scratch yours'.

Confused: The two ministers have much more to lose than that of a member of the advisory panel of the MACC. They will definitely try to hold on to their positions as long as possible. The stakes are just too high.

Anonymous: Phang, there is no honour among thieves. The whole bunch is corrupt to the brim. They rob, plunder and cheat at the blink of an eye. They have no shame in doing so.

These are men and women of no faith and are misguided in their religion. Former PM Abdullah Ahmad Badawi once said that corruption for Muslims is just as sinful as consuming pork. Yet they indulge in it with impunity.

DAP supremo Lim Kit Siang once said we have a "government of thieves". What supremacy (ketuanan) they are talking about? The only thing ‘supreme' is when it comes to robbing and plundering.

Geronimo: Sorry, Robert. These fellas' skins are as thick as cow hide that the thought of them resigning is the furthest from their minds.

Why should they resign when in their warped logic they are convinced they have done nothing wrong. Sad, isn't it?

Black Mamba: Robert Phang, there is no way the two ministers are going to resign as the whole cabinet will then be implicated and we will be left without a ruling government. Didn't you hear when Shahrizat was insinuating that many were involved ?

Tiuniamah: Robert, not many people in public office know the meaning of the word 'honourable' as most of them belong to the category of 'rogues'.
