Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi has postponed a planned visit to Burma tomorrow because he is unwell, the official Bernama news agency reported.

Abdullah is suffering from a cough and sore throat, the Prime Minister's Office said in a statement to the agency.

The new date for his visit to Burma has yet to be decided.

The Burma visit will be the last leg of Abdullah's introductory tour of the 10-member Association of Southeast Asian Nations, a tradition for newly installed regional leaders.

Abdullah took over from veteran leader Mahathir Mohamad on Oct 31. - AFP
