The Penang Hill railway service will be suspended for seven days starting Jan 9 next year for the purpose of inspection and maintenance.

Penang Hill Corporation marketing and promotion division manager Anne Goh said the railway operation would continue as usual after the annual maintenance work.
“Members of the public or visitors may choose to use alternative routes, which are the jeep track from the Botanical Gardens or the existing trekking track up the hill,” she said in a statement in George Town today.
Members of the public can visit the website www.penanghill.gov.my to check the schedule and any developments on the train service.
