A detainee at the Bukit Jalil detention centre, here, died in his lock-up cell today.

A police source said the 50-year-old man was found dead at about 1.20pm by another detainee who shared the same lock-up.

"The fellow inmate had asked the man to have lunch but found that he had died," the source told Bernama via SMS.

The body of the deceased was then sent to Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL).

It is learnt that the man who was arrested on Monday and remanded since the following day, was being investigated under Section 12 (2) and Section 15 (1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act, 1952.

On Monday, another a 50-year-old drug addict was found unconscious in a lock-up at the same detention centre and died a few hours later at HKL where he was taken for treatment.
