A 104-year-old pensioner today appealed to the authorities to find out why his pension of RM238 had not been deposited into his bank account since February this year.  

Retired teacher Abdullah Ismail told Bernama at his home in Kampung Seberang Pekan, Baling that the money had not been credited into his Bank Rakyat account.

“Maybe the authorities thought that I must have died,” he said.    

Abdullah’s youngest daughter, Siti Safur, 55, said the family became worried when the pension was not deposited into his account for so many months now.

Siti Safur appealed to the authorities for an explanation.

“I appeal to them to reply immediately to settle the problem. Is the pension being stopped because he is more than 100 years old?” she said.
