Police reports against Women, Family and Community Development Minister Shahrizat Abdul Jalil continued to mount after the PKR-linked NGO Jingga 13 lodged yet another report against her.

This followed fresh allegations Jingga 13 made, involving RM4.9 million in abused public funds in the scandal-ridden National Feedlot Corporation (NFC).

NONEBased on PKR strategic director Rafizi Ramli's revelations yesterday, the group wants police to investigate Shahrizat over the alleged purchase of a luxury car and two plots of land in Putrajaya, using funds meant to develop the nation's beef industry.

The purchase was allegedly made by NFC, in which Shahrizat's husband serves as chairperson, through its sister company National Meat and Livestock Corporation, which Rafizi claimed was wholly-owned by Shahrizat's family.

The police report made says that RM588,585 was transferred by NFC to Meatworks Pte Ltd in Singapore, a fine dining restaurant chain, which is also allegedly owned by Shahrizat's family.

This is the third report lodged by Jingga 13 over the NFC scandal, with the initial two being reports lodged with the police and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) on the alleged purchase of two luxury condominiums by NFC at RM6.9 million each.

Shahrizat has not responded to the latest allegations, but she has staunchly denied any involvement in the NFC quagmire.

'Family sacrificed for political survival'

Speaking to reporters at the Dang Wangi district police headquarters after lodging the report, Jingga 13 chief coordinator Fariz Musa rubbished Shahrizat's claim that she was not involved in the NFC scandal.

NONE"She is the wife! Surely she would know about her husband's company," Fariz (right) said, pointing out that Shahrizat herself had allegedly received RM26,400 from the company for ‘unknown expenses'.

"This is clearly an attempt to pass the buck to her family for the sake of her political survival," he said.

The NFC scandal was first highlighted in the Auditor-General's Report 2010, in which it is stated that the project was in "a mess" and failed to meet its targets.

Since then, PKR has exposed a string of alleged wrongdoings, including the use of NFC's RM250 million government soft loan to purchase two condominiums, pilgrimage for the Mohamad and his son, and overseas trips for the company's directors.

Yesterday, Rafizi exposed that NFC funds were used to purchase a Mercedes Benz CLS 350 CLI for RM534,622 and two plots of land in Precinct 10, Putrajaya for RM3,363,507.

In addition, 15 cheques for a total of RM455,423 were paid to Impian Global Network Services, which he said offered tour packages to Bandung, Singapore and Bali.

However, earlier today Deputy Inspector-General of Police Khalid Abu Bakar said the police so far could not find any element of criminal breach of trust by NFC.
