Muhyiddin: GE13 the mother of all polls for Malays

Pemerhati: Some quotes from Muhyiddin Yassin's speech at the Umno general assembly - "The 13th general election is the mother of all elections as it would determine whether the Malays will fall or rise. Will the political power remain in our hands or will it pass to others?

"Do you want to see the political power to be lost and allow the opposition to win Putrajaya? Are we prepared to see the Malays lose their power on their own land? Certainly the answer is no. Believe this - the party's struggle is a jihad for the religion, race and country."

The simple answer to this crude and disgusting racist rhetoric is that if Pakatan Rakyat wins the next elections, the country will get a clean government which will be lead by capable Malaysian leaders, most of whom would be Malays.

Malaysia's total revenue in 2011 was RM183 billion but about a third of that was stolen by the corrupt BN leaders and their accomplices. If Pakatan takes over, the RM60 billion or so being stolen now will be used for the benefit of the people.

Hermit: If Umno leaders were clean, sincere, honest and having high moral values as highlighted by Umno deputy president, PAS and PKR would not even see the light of the day.

But it is the abuses of Umno leaders for more than 50 years of their very own race that saw Pakatan making inroads in Malay areas.

There is definitely no turning back for the well-informed Malaysians, irrespective of race, who have very well decided for a definite change. The defining moment is coming very soon.

Karma: Even a Malay like Aflin Shauki mocked the guy who kissed the keris in the past Umno general assembly in ‘Nasi Lemak 2.0'.

As far we know, it was the Sarawakians and Sabahans who have kept Umno-BN in power the last GE. Why did the DPM only restrict his call to the Malays? How about the Chinese and Indians?

If Umno loses power and Pakatan takes over, the federal government and the Malay-majority states will still be led by Malays.

Umno is clearly now very desperate and has resorted to whipping up the racial and religious sentiments of the Malays to get support. That means PM Najib Razak's 1Malaysia is dead.

Swipenter: The real and insidious threat to the Malays are not coming from non-Malay Malaysians but from Umno selling citizenship to foreigners for their votes to retain political power.

Sabah now have more ‘foreign Malaysian' citizens than genuine Malaysians after 30 years of naturalisation of Indonesians, Filipinos, etc, under Project IC aka Project M. Now this covert and insidious scheme is being repeated in the peninsula by Umno.

Umno is the real traitor to our national sovereignty and the Malays. These foreign bumiputeras are going to compete for the special rights and privileges of the Malays and have no loyalty to the Malay monarchy and sultans. They are only interested in the special rights and privileges and nothing else.

Umno is not interested in the ordinary Malays. They are only interested to retain political power in order to rape and plunder the riches of our country for themselves, for their cronies and their friends and family members.

Ksn: I have great difficulty understanding the DPM's message to Umno. Defend at all cost - what does that mean?

Malaysia is a democracy and the party which forms the government will be determined by the voters.

We, you mean the Malays, must retain power? Take Pakatan for example: PAS are all Malays, Muslims as well, good Muslims who hold true the teachings of Islam. PKR is headed by a Malay, who is expected to be the PM if Pakatan wins.

Then we have DAP. Has not the BN many Chinese, Indians, Kadazans, Ibans, etc, in their fold? Similarly Pakatan too has its share of non-Malays. So what are you talking about?

One thing is sure underlining Muhyiddin's call - Umno is in panic and has given up winning the elections fairly. Past sins pays.

Shanandoah: Muhyiddin - a dying man will clutch at any straw. In this case, the straws you are clutching are race and religion.

These straws will not save Umno-BN. Malaysia is multiracial, pure and simple. You are deluding the Malays.

Chuath: Muhyiddin, we are concerned with the big picture. We really don't care who is the PM so long as he can be seen to act strongly against corruption, has the energy to monitor all the ministries and ensure that, at the very least, taxpayers' funds are accounted for and the law is upheld and justice is done and seen to be done.

Manjit Bhatia: Some here have argued this battle of which Muhyiddin speaks is one being waged inside the Malay community for the hearts and minds of Malays to vote for Umno's survival.

This is another admission that the Malay Malaysians are deeply divided about who will represent them in Parliament. Their Malay enemy is from within the Malay community. If the Malays want Umno, they should be prepared for 60 to 70 percent of them to remain poor and backward for the rest of this generation and the next.

Umno put back in power will continue its theft of Malaysia's national wealth for itself and its cronies, and unchecked because it's a power unto itself. It uses the security apparatus to protect not Malaysians, but the regime and its cronies.

If the Malays are stupid enough to accept Umno as their political savior, they must also accept the consequences of their economic and political bastardisation by Umno. The ball's in the court of ordinary Malays. Don't be screwed by Umno again.

Multi Racial: Muhyiddin, you are wrong. It is not only about Malays, it is about Malaysians.
