your sayGerard Samuel Vijayan: This is Prime Minister Najib Razak's political transformation which he had the gall to call "revolutionary" in Parliament on Thursday.

Now Umno uses the police and local authorities to stifle legitimate and peaceful political gatherings. If Johor is indeed Umno's stronghold, why the fear on the part of the government?

The entire transformation programme is a farce because Umno intends to and must stay in power come whatever.

They have never respected the constitution, the rule of law and human rights, and they are not going to do so now.

I suggest that the PKR goes ahead with their programmes and let the police do their master's bidding like the lap dogs that they are.

Can we expect them to play fair when it comes to the general election? No way they will because Umno-BN has to win at all costs, or they will lose their rice bowl and all their scandals will be exposed.

The police have no will of their own. Permits already approved are withdrawn on a moment's notice under orders from their Umno masters. The PDRM (Royal Malaysian Police) has no honour and no backbone.

And permits are purposely withdrawn at the eleventh hour to inconvenience the opposition and make them waste their funds as venues have to be booked, refreshments arranged, etc.

Orphans: Now Johor people can see that the police work for Umno.

Onyourtoes: So much for ‘the world's best democracy', so much for ‘no one will be persecuted and prosecuted for his/her political belief', so much for the revocation of the Emergency Ordinance, and so much for ‘assembly without a police permit'.

This is the renegade regime rotten at its very core.

Hanyayangbenar: Johor Umno is so afraid now that Pakatan is gaining popularity among Johoreans, which was evident in the good attendance in all Pakatan ceramah.

If Johor falls into the hands of Pakatan in the next GE, it will definitely mean the demise of Umno altogether, a tragedy they will do whatever it takes or costs to prevent as Umno was born in the state.

It would be such a humiliating event to Umno if that were to happen.

Apaisaloi: It's okay, Umno, you can revoke all the permits but we are already immune to it all. By now, we all know who are your agents in the government. The more stubborn and arrogant you are, the better.

Please keep it up. Your president says something, your right-wing people do something else.

Thana55: Having ceramah is a legitimate right and Umno-BN have no power to arbitrarily declare such ceramah illegal.

PKR deputy president Azmin Ali should just go ahead with the ceramah as planned... the people are with you and Pakatan. The Malaysian Spring is imminent.

Loyal Malaysian: So, the government is trying to keep Johoreans ignorant of what's going on? I wonder if the Umnoputras really think Johoreans are that ‘ulu' (backward) that their only source of information is from the ceramah.

Isa@1penyu: Pakatan, especially PAS, did not allow Umno flags when they ruled Terengganu, and even takes down the PM's posters, so what is the fuss?

Even before winning Putrajaya, Pakatan has shown its arrogance, and it will be worse when it comes to power.

Dood: Oh, so Umno-BN can hold all kinds of events right in Pakatan's backyard, but Pakatan can't even hold their national congress in Umno-BN's so-called traditional home ground?

And what's this bull about the police revoking permits at the last minute. They want to make it even harder to hold assemblies?

2cts Worth: The PM's plan is devilish. He will call the GE abruptly. While he and his gang can freely hold ceramah and have the main media such as TV3 and RTM working full time for him, the opposition will be saddled with the 30-days delay for approval of their ceramah.

How do you expect anyone to plan for a campaign when there is no inkling of the date of the GE? The least that Najib can do to ensure fair play is name the date of the GE in advance.
Clever Voter: The truth must be told to the people. PKR must endure the pains and be resolute. In time to come, all these will become history.

We need change badly, and we need the leadership to realise the full potential of the country and not allowed further erosion of the democracy and the deprivation of what the people deserve.

YF: Umno is very, very afraid. They will lose GE13 and they know it. That explains their illegal attempts to suppress the voice of the rakyat.
