Kelantan Menteri Besar Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat agreed that the state assembly and parliament be dissolved simultaneously so enable the general election to be held nationwide.

NONENik Aziz said dissolving the parliament and state assembly separately would only create a number of problems.

The PAS spiritual adviser said there was no need for Kelantan to have separate elections for state and parliament since it would also give additional room for the opposition.

“If Kelantan does that (have separate election), it will give the opposition (Umno) an opportunity to pursue their political ambition,” he told reporters after opening the ‘Publisiti Serentak Rancangan Tempatan’ programme in Kota Baru yesterday.

Selangor Menteri Besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim had announced that Selangor would not dissolve the state assembly if the general election was held before June next year since it would not give the state time to implement programmes under the approved Selangor 2012 budget.
