Zaid casting eye on PJ Selatan seat

Kita president Zaid Ibrahim revealed that he intends to contest a parliamentary seat in Petaling Jaya but has yet to arrive at a final decision.

Speaking to Malay-language daily Sinar Harian, he said: " I have yet to decide between PJ Selatan or PJ Utara."

However, the newspaper reported that Zaid (left) shared that he is leaning towards Petaling Jaya Selatan, currently held by PKR representative Hee Loy Sian.

Hee defeated now-deputy finance minister Donald Lim of the MCA with a majority of 5,706.

According to Sinar Harian, Kita is not the only party keen to take on PKR in Petaling Jaya Selatan.

"PRM is also said to be interested to field a candidate there," the daily reported, adding that BN is also set to contest.

Zaid, who previously announced that Kita will be contesting nationwide, added that the party will focus on constituencies where public complaints of an incumbent's performance are abundant.

"We will place many candidates in the next general election as Kita wants to be a ruling party, not a mosquito party," he was quoted as saying.
