There are no ‘black’ consituencies in Perak for the upcoming 13th general election as far the Perak Barisan Nasional (BN) is concerned, said Perak Menteri Besar Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir.  

Zambry, who is also Perak BN chief, said no matter whether a constituency was ‘black’ (difficult to win) or ‘white’ (good chance of winning), winning depended on the party’s strategy and efforts of each member to serve the community.  

“Certain areas are labelled as ‘black’ due to political issues, but sometimes areas deemed to be ‘white’ can turn ‘black’ because politics is something dynamic,” he told reporters at a “meet-the people” session in Ipoh today.

For example, Zambry said, BN had won the Ipoh Timur and Barat parliamentary seats before and at a time when people never expected the coalition to win them.

He added that he was not a believer of “unwinnable” seats for the BN.
