Video producer outraged at MCMC explanation

Brahman: Finally, we have a producer who actually produced a truthful video - "Malaysia is our country", "Malaysia's future is in our hands", "We are the boss" and "This is our country".

In the past, the older generation voted for the sake of voting, surrendering the whole country to the hands of politicians whilst they struggled to put food on the table for their family.

This has carried on for nearly 50 years - the ruling parties make decisions unchallenged, their access of the country's wealth not monitored, their actions unaccountable, their power absolute.

We forgot that we, the rakyat, are the bosses and we have the power to hire those who could ensure that the wealth of the country is increased, to take care the health of the country and to return dividends to the owners, the rakyat, of our beloved country.

After the sacrifices of the older generation to educate us, now it's our duty to ensure the right leaders run our beloved country.

JusticeKini: PM Najib Razak said we want to be the best democracy in the world. Well, western democracies allow the airing of different viewpoints and criticism of political leaders from both sides of the political divide.

They even mock and satirise their leaders on TV. But in Bolehland's version of democracy, government needs to approve a ‘Undilah' video asking people to vote and exercise their rights as citizens.

Not Confused: Once again, the only word that comes to my mind is ‘pathetic'. However, I guess we should all be used to this kind of Jurassic thinking.

The video seems excellent to me - it's not critical of anyone or any one party and just extolling the responsibilities of the people in a true democracy. But then again, that is the last thing that BN would want isn't it?

As someone else has said, just put it on YouTube and let the rakyat do the rest.

Undilah video subliminal messages claim 'rubbish'

Jeremy Ng: The only subliminal message is that the more new voters vote (genuine Malaysian voters, not imports), the more disadvantage BN will become.

So, Malaysia's best democracy means avoid new voters so that status quo is easier to manipulate. It is very obvious that the government is not keen to have all these new genuine Malaysian voters.

Joker: Umno is not used to competing on a level-playing field nor is it comfortable with subtle or 'subliminal' messages. They only know how to play if the field is heavily tilted to favor them and blatant, outright messages declaring support for it.

He does not realise that when he claims that his video is "pro the people" and not pro opposition, to Umno, anything "pro people" means anti-Umno and anti-BN.

Lim Chong Leong: Calling for real people to vote is sublimally anti-BN because real voters will vote them out. Only crony, postal, phantom, illegal immigrant, deceased voters will vote for BN.

These people must be afraid of their own shadows if the message for voters to vote is sublimally anti BN. It is like their fear of the words ‘C4', ‘Mongolia' and ‘Bersih' or the colour yellow.


M'sian students in US asked to serve their country

Wfworker: Students will come back to serve the nation if the environment is conducive to their demands. As it happened in Taiwan, South Korea and even China and India; here, a policy change is obviously required. Is the government prepared to make those changes?

Kgen: Come back to serve their country? Did their country give them a fair deal in tertiary education or chased them out by restricting education opportunities for them?

Anonymous_4031: The foreign minister should address the pertinent issues at home before trying to woo Malaysians working overseas. Can you guarantee:

a) Meritocracy in job promotion and job recruitment?

b) Equal opportunities, based on meritocracy, for scholarships?

c) Fair allocation for all schools - national and vernacular?

d) Entry to public universities will be based on meritocracy and meritocracy alone?

e) All students applying to universities will have STPM or A-levels, but not matriculation?

f) The positions in GLCs (government-linked companies) will be filled based on meritocracy?

g) All vice-chancellors, school heads, senior assistants will be selected solely on the basis on meritocracy?

Can you guarantee all these? If you can't, don't talk.
