MCA is open to the idea of seat swapping with other BN component parties in the next general election, if the strategy ensures victory for BN.
Party president Dr Chua Soi Lek said the objective was to enable BN component parties to win more seats.
"We are willing to swap seats as long as we are confident that the component party can win the seat.
"We will support this because we are looking at the bigger picture, to ensure BN forms the government," he told reporters at Wisma MCA in Kuala Lumpur today.
He was asked to comment on MIC president G Palanivel's statement yesterday that MIC was willing to swap its seats with other component parties.
Chua also said that MCA leaders had been giving briefings to the party grassroots leaders to prepare them for the coming general election.
