MB: Jais asks for one more month to compile report

Lover Boy: Menteri Besar Khalid Ibrahim, the basic issue is proselytisation. Your PAS colleague (exco Hasan Ali) says that Jais has proof so they barged into the dinner at the church premises.

Prima facie case is not sufficient for you entered without a warrant, and with the police. Yes, you found some strange question papers, but that to me is nothing. We want to see hard proof.

If indeed this event at DUMC (Damansara Utama Methodist Church) is a front to convert those Muslims, let's see the proof and then let the authorities take action against the church, such as shutting it down.

If there is no proof, then action must be taken against Jais (Selangor Islamic Affairs Department).

DannyLoHH: If Jais needs one more month to compile a report of their investigation, it means it has no evidence to justify their raid on the Harapan Komuniti dinner.

What Jais doing is accuse first, then go find the evidence to back up their accusation. Their raid is not based on any solid evidence but mere suspicion and speculation.

Jais has turned Malaysia into a very sad place to live in, where even charity is being viewed with suspicion.

FairPlay: If more time is required to prepare the report, it would suggest that Jais did not have sufficient evidence. The only evidence that we know of is the attendance of the 12 Muslims at the function.

The delay would allow cool heads to prevail and for all parties to reach a 'compromise' that would seem fair to all, and more importantly, put this sad episode behind us.

Ericlcc: It looks like these Jais officials know only how to raid, but don't know how to write. If they claim they have all the facts regarding the issue at hand, why does it take so long to prepare the report?

The Selangor MB is either too soft with Jais or he has no control/authority over them. So if after one month, Jais say they still need more time to prepare a more comprehensive report, what will the MB do?

Dark Archon: If there are real hard evidence, they won't be needing so much time just to "compile" a report.

They would have already apply for court order to shut down the church. This delaying tactic only shows that Jais has no evidence as they had earlier claimed.

AkuMelayu: One month delay - here's a very good example of an 'efficient' Pakatan Rakyat government. Selamat Hari Raya.

I accept that in politics, lies can be twisted into truths, and half-truths spun into indisputable facts. But in faith, as a Muslim, is it not your duty to show that Muslims believe in the truth (and Umno-types swear by the Quran as well) and can be trusted to speak the truth?

Or really, ‘in truth', there are two types of Muslims - ones who are true Muslims believing in and ready to fight for the truth, peace and unity of man and the others who are hell-bent on making the world around them bend to their 'Muslim reality', therefore ready to tell lies, twist lies into truth and spin half-truths into facts as long as it fits their Muslim agenda, right or wrong.

So AkuMelayu, you blame the Pakatan government for Jais' delay. Do you think for a moment that other Malays and Muslims don't know that you are lying?

Yvoon: Something is wrong here. They should have done their investigation, get a court order and then only raid. Not the other way round.

With this delay, one wonders whether they were indeed "fishing" for evidence when they raided the church. We should not condone this type of behaviour in a "free" democracy.

Not Confused: Bunkum! Jais has already had enough time to concoct some make-believe stories - why do they need another month?

We all know what they were doing, and it certainly wasn't investigating. It was an aggressive and arrogant raid on a peaceful gathering, no more, no less.

These idiots see spies and fifth-columnists in every shadow behind them - it's really pathetic that they carry on like this and expect us to swallow what they say.

The rakyat might have done so a few years ago, but now the cat is out of the bag and it will not go back in.

Anonymous: The longer the time for Jais to come up with the report, the less credible the report will be.

All they need to do is to force and even to persuade one of the 12 to "confess" and they will say they have a case.

If they have been so blatant and so 'bullying' in their actions, how come nothing concrete has come out of their investigations so far?

Tkc: Instead of inventing more untruths which will further aggravate the matter, the easiest thing for Jais to do is to apologise if it had made a genuine error.

I am sure most of the people involved would prefer to put the sorry episode behind them and move on with their lives.
